PURPOSE

The environment and its protection is an important issue of our times. Modern way of life and the ever-increasing needs in large urban centers, burden the environment, increasing the volume of waste produced and consequently of what it must absorb.

It is clear that the linear production model of “supply, manufacture, disposal” in which our economy has been based so far and according to which, each product inevitably reaches its “end of useful life”, is no longer viable. The circular economy comes in response to the ambition for sustainable development, given the growing concern about the depletion of natural resources and the degradation of the environment.

Efficient and economical waste management is directly related to the quality of people’s daily lives, the aesthetics and the hygiene of cities, so they need modern and responsible solutions in order to ensure a clean environment.

STRATEGY

In GEOFOS A.T.E.B.E. our strategy is that waste is a raw material, the use of which strengthens the circular economy and the recovery of products.

In particular, through our experience in the process of managing discarded biodegradable plant biomass resulting from the green projects we perform, we have recognized that existing waste management practices are not sustainable and exert additional pressure on the environment.

Especially, we identified the gap that exists in the market for the provision of integrated green waste management solutions and more specifically for the provision of vertical solutions, from the stage of sorting at the source to the final recovery – reuse of waste.

For this reason and in order to fully serve our own needs, we proceeded to the construction of a modern and vertical unit for the management of non-hazardous solid waste. Now, with the experience and the expertise we have acquired, we provide integrated waste management solutions to third parties in both the public and private sectors.
